Amigurumi Crochet Pattern Wiggly Gnome

Creative with colour and material

Are you looking for a unique, small project that is just a little different? This wobbly gnome combines crochet with faux fur! With this pattern you make a gnome of about 7 cm high. The use of a beard made of faux fur immediately gives them a funny and stubborn look.

Although this gnome is designed to wobble on a 4 cm spring, the design is incredibly versatile. Do you leave out the spring? Then the pattern is perfect to use as a bag or keychain, or even as a cheerful brooch. An ideal gift (for yourself!) that you can cross off in an evening.

Materials Used for the Swinging Gnome:

You can use any yarn you want for this crochet pattern. Below is a list of the materials I used for these little Gnomes. If you use thicker or thinner yarn, the Gnome will also become smaller or larger and you will have to adjust your spring accordingly.

  • Cotton in 2 or 3 different colors.
  • Skin color for the nose and 1 or 2 colors of cotton for the hat and body. Together less than 9 grams.
  • Crochet hook 2.5
  • Scissors, needle, a little stuffing
  • Small piece of fake fur of about 3x2cm
  • Spring with top and bottom plate, 4cm high, plate 2.4cm in diameter.
  • Possibly a brooch needle or a keychain ring.

The Gnome grows to 7cm in size
