Amigurumi crochet pattern of an AI robot

Meet Alexander Isaak Bot – 'Bot' for short to his friends. He is the smartest AI in my collection, although he sometimes suffers a little from a 'creative short circuit'.

Bot is no ordinary robot. He is made of the strongest types of (crocheted) steel in beautiful grey and blue. On his belly, he wears a display with his heart rate and an all-important patience meter (ideal for assembly!). On his back you will find his on/off button, although he is actually always 'on' in his head.

The most striking thing about Bot?

The plug with a short piece of wire that he holds tightly. According to his own advanced calculations, this is a wireless quantum antenna for maximum energy. That the wire is not attached to anything and there is no socket nearby? "That's a software update, you people simply don't understand that yet," says Bot.

Interactive design

Bot is just as flexible as his algorithms. Thanks to a clever design, his head can rotate completely or even be completely removed from his torso. Do you prefer it a bit more stable? Then you can easily secure the head.

Do you dare to take on the challenge?

Crochet your own AI expert and get a good dose of humour. With its displays, buttons and quirky plug, Bot is a unique addition to your collection.

Materials Used for Bot

You can use any yarn you want for this crochet pattern. Below is a list of the materials I used for this fun robot.

  • Cotton, use your own favourite brand.
  • I used a combination of blue and 3 types of grey for Bot
  • Blue: 36 grams
  • Light grey: 39 grams
  • Dark grey: 24 grams
  • Anthracite: 10 grams
  • Small amounts of red, green, yellow, white and black for the eyes, buttons, antenna and displays
  • Dark blue for the plug: 5 grams
  • Sewing thread
  • Crochet hook 2.5
  • Scissors, needle, filling
  • Chenille wire for the antenna
