Crochet Pattern Sneak Spider – Creepy Fun Pop-up Surprise

Sneak Spider: he lies still, until you put your cup down

I like a joke that you only discover when you don't expect it. This is how the Sneak Spider was born. At first glance, he lies there very innocently on the table, with his hairy paws folded around him. Nothing to worry about, right? Until you put your cup of coffee or tea on it. Then his paws come up, grab hold of your head and his head rises too. Exactly when you are not prepared for it.

What makes this coaster so special?

  1. A pop-up surprise: as soon as you put weight on the coaster, the legs grab your head and the spider's head rises.
  2. Works without additional tools: no spring or elastic required, the mechanism is completely in the hook construction itself.
  3. Small project, big effect: you don't have to crochet for days for this result, but the reaction you provoke is at least as big.
  4. Suitable for beginners: if you know the basic stitches, you can also crochet this spider.

Around Halloween, this is the project to give someone a little heartbeat pink, completely innocent of course. But honestly, it doesn't have to be Halloween to have fun with this. Put it on the table when you have visitors, put it on a colleague's desk or just use it for yourself, for that little smile every time you put your cup down.

Put the coaster down with someone who doesn't know it yet, and have your phone ready. The reaction is worth its weight in gold every time.
