Christmas Stocking Elf
In the Netherlands we put a shoe by the fireplace for Sinterklaas, in America a Christmas Stocking hangs by the fire place at Christmas. The Christmas stocking is an integral part of the American tradition. These stockings come in all shapes and sizes and belong to the Christmas decorations in more and more countries.
This is my version: a crocheted Elfen Sock, the vintage version. But make it in any colour and as colourful as you want, use decorations that like to fit your Christmas home!
Crochet the Christmas Stockng with nice thick yarn, then it becomes big and can hold many presents!
Materials used for the Christmas Stocking Elf:
You can use any yarn you want for this crochet pattern. If you use thicker or thinner yarn, the Sock will become slightly larger or smaller. Below is a summary of the materials I used for the Christmas Stocking.
- Zeeman Royal acrylic cream, (100% acrylic) used: 50gram
- Zeeman Fluffy (100% polyamide) used: 10gr
- Crochet hook 3 and crochet hook 4
- Scissors, needle, fibrefill
- Piece of chenille wire or electrical wire for in the tip.
- Furthermore: beads, coloured yarn, feathers, charms, ribbons etc. to decorate the Elven Sock.
The Christmas Stocking Elf is 16cm wide (from above) and 38cm high.
