Why a goat and not a nice dog for Franklin and Victoria, I hear you think!?!

Taking walks through our neighbourhood, through the forest, over the heath and along the beach is something I like to do. I am often accompanied by Victoria or Milton James the Goat. If he goes with me, I don't have to bring an extra bag, because everything we find along the way can be put in his bags. Well, it is not the case that we take everything we encounter with us. No, only a very special stone or shell for example. But I have also found an old pipe head. Real treasures!! My collectibles!

It was another very fun and productive design and crochet year! No, not just as productive as the year before, when I published my book Aan de Kust in addition to all my other patterns, but productive in a different way. There are 11 patterns released this year, of which 2 have already been in the crochet magazine Aan de Haak (Dutch Crochet Magazine)

From idea to creation

It's quite an honour! I got to interview Bea King, the designer behind Cottontail and Whiskers! She designs those amazing, beautiful and often very funny creations!! I'm really a fan!

You've just put the finishing touches on an amigurumi crochet pattern you were working on. The last threads of your crocheted creation are hidden away! And what a super fun amigurumi it has become! You are so proud that you would like to take a photo of it and share it on your own timeline on Facebook, on Instagram or in crochet-related Facebook groups. You're absolutely right! It is very nice to show your crocheted creations. I myself always find it very nice to look at the work of others.

Do you remember him?

You take a skein of yarn and a crochet hook and you can crochet any project you want? Is it really that simple? Almost! To crochet amigurumi you can choose from a lot of different types of yarn. It depends a bit on what you want to do with your amigurumi, which yarn you can use best. Are you going for an amigurumi as a decoration or a nice cuddly toy to play with? 

Christmas in the summer?! Why not? It may be a little too early to think about Christmas, but before you know it, it's that time again!  Fellow crafters and crocheters will understand this: if you want to make something fun to put in the house during the Christmas period or to give as a gift, you will have to start on time. So if you want to be in Christmas atmospheres for the whole month of December and it will take about 4 to 6 weeks to make nice things, then it is important to start at least mid-October!!

Fluffy yarn is so soft, so cuddly! You just have to crochet with it!! Maybe you have guessed it, but I am a big fan of fluffy yarn! If you ask me if I want to crochet with fluffy yarn then my answer will be: Yes, of course! But not everyone is a fan of that lovely fluffy yarn!
